Intercultural training for educators
EHO is successfully realizing certified intercultural training for educators for the fourth consecutive year. By the end of this year there will be organized 10 new certified trainings in Serbia titled “Challenges of intercultural learning and education”, catalogue number 479 in the “Catalogue of programs for professional training” for school-years 2016/2017 and 2017/2018, and in cooperation with the “Know How Center”. Since the start of 2016/2017 school-year, successfully were organized trainings in Kragujevac, Kraljevo, Raška and Novi Pazar in Serbia.
EHO has initiated the program of intercultural training for educators in 2013. In the previous project period 2013–2015, EHO provided resources for organizing 30 trainings for educators of various levels titled “Introduction in intercultural learning” that was certified by the “Institute for advancement of education” under number 74. In the same period, EHO provided resources for organizing 20 certified trainings “Nor black or white – program for work with children/youth against prejudice, for tolerance and interculturality“, catalogue number 46, custom project realized by the “Centre for Interactive Pedagogy” from Belgrade. Trainings were participated by 1074 educators from 220 schools in 117 different places. In the same period, financially aided by EHO, realized were 30 school projects attended by more than 3000 pupils. For more details please refer to the “Catalogue of intercultural school projects”.
Intercultural education training is a constituent component of the project ”Improvement of living conditions of Roma and of other marginalized groups, prevention of illegal migrations and supporting reintegration of returnees to Serbia”. This project is conducting activities such as: migration management on local level and improving housing conditions of Roma and other marginalized groups. The project also offers different services in the process of education of children and youth from marginalized groups.
The project is financed by the SEM - State Secretariat for Migration, Switzerland, SDC - Swiss agency for development and cooperation, Switzerland, HEKS-EPER, Switzerland with units of local self-government in Serbia and realized by the consortium EHO – HEKS/EPER.
