The Institute of Oncology
in Sremska Kamenica is a highly specialized health, education and
research institution in the field of oncology. The institute is
equipped to perform the most complex and specialized preventive,
diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative methods and treatments. It
is also among the institutions best positioned to monitor and examine
public health and register patients with tumors.
Within this capacity, the Institute is also
engaged in other epidemiological studies, multidisciplinary clinical
research of precancerous and malignant tumors, research, introduction,
and application of new approaches to tumor prevention, diagnostics,
treatment and rehabilitation.
The Institute organizes professional supervision
not only within its clinics and departments, but also in other hospital
oncology departments and out-patient clinics over the entire territory
of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.
The Institute provides educational programs and
special training for health workers and medical students through
regular, postgraduate, and other forms of specialized study.
It effectively cooperates with the University of Novi Sad and makes a
significant contribution to the implementation of educational programs
targeting the general population and related to the risk factors
responsible for tumor development. |
